Store to raffle $20K BY JENNIFER AMATO Staff Writer NORTH BRUNSWICK - With the "Make Your House a Home" $20,000 giveaway from Ashley Furniture HomeStore on Route 1, residents have a chance to pretend they are participating in their own version of a reality home-improvement show. Over the next three weekends, the furniture retailer will present three grand-prize gift certificates to customers who fill out a raffle entry the week prior. On July 15 and 22, $5,000 will be given away, and on July 29 the grand prize of $10,000 will be awarded. "We want to give back to the community and create some excitement," said Advertising Manager Ruth Shindler. "Plus, sometimes in the summer [business] can be a little slow, so we want to do something fun." Since the furniture store is able to keep prices low because of their Ashley Direct Prices, customers will be able to receive several pieces of furniture with the certificates. They can establish or decorate their living rooms, family rooms, dining rooms, master bedrooms, children's bedrooms or kitchens with the assortment of furniture available on display. "They can really furnish a lot of their home," Shindler added. The deadline for entries is 1 p.m. on each Saturday with the drawings held at 2 p.m., complete with a DJ, face-painting, clowns and refreshments. Entries are limited to one per person/household/address per drawing and can be placed in the in-store display ballot slot. "This gives people a chance to complete their home. Because this is at the local level and not the national level, they have a very good chance of winning," Shindler said.
