Thanks for heroic actions of American soldiers

Dear beloved soldiers from every branch: the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and National Guard, to every man and woman who donated their most valuable and honorable time to keep America safe and free, I salute all of you for the sacrifices you endure to keep the freedom every human being has a right to enjoy. Thank you; you are my idols.

It takes great courage to give up your family and friends to volunteer your service in the name of freedom. Many young soldiers never see their first child to be born, and many never see that child again. Thank you for making America the greatest super power in the world, second to none. Yes, freedom cannot be bought, it must be fought for. From every base or post around the world, from pole to pole, from east to west, you are my heroes.

I never forgot, during the Second World War in southern Italy, we were scared to go out of the house because of the atrocities from the German soldiers. They terrorized the city and small villages. They stole our farm and took our livestock. I remember as a young boy of 12 I was scared and hungry. Many nights I went to bed without a meal. Then one glorious day, the American soldiers entered Italy from the south to liberate us. That day was something I will never forget. The people lined up the roads welcoming the Americans as our liberators, and since that day, I fell in love with America.

Today, at age 74, I am willing to donate my service and my life to secure the freedom for me and my family, and most of all my beloved grandchildren. Thank you, America, and thank you, soldiers. You are the best of the best. You were, you are, and always will be my heroes. A special thanks and prayer go to all the veterans who fight in every war to preserve and protect the past, the present and future generations.

You deserve the love and admiration from all who believe in freedom and democracy. I salute each and every one of you with a special prayer, and a safe return to your loved ones. For those who lost their lives, I remember you with heartfelt appreciation, and may you rest in peace. God bless America for giving me the honor and privilege to be an American.
