Obituaries Rose M. Adochio Mrs. Adochio, 95, of South Brunswick, died March 5 at Princeton Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she resided in New Brunswick, and Milltown, prior to moving to Buckingham Place, South Brunswick, in 2001. She was a cashier at W.T. Grants, North Brunswick, from 1952 until its closing in the 1970s. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. She enjoyed time with her family, and nature. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Adochio in 1960; a son, James in 2004; four brothers, Peter, James, Joseph and Vito William Rispoli; and a sister, Marie Ricca. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John "Spike" and Sylvia Adochio of Milltown, Joseph and Betty Jane Adochio of East Brunswick, and Robert and Patricia Adochio of Colts Neck; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Florence and Harold Murphy of LaGrange, Ga., Angelina and Victor Barus of Milltown, and Judith LaPelosa of East Brunswick; a brother, Michael Rispoli of Las Vegas; five sisters, Minnie Maltese of New Brunswick, Dolly Rispoli of Rochester, N.Y., Josephine Meyerhofer of Philipsburg, and Katherine Delzotto and Honey Siniscalshi, both of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Adochio of Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be March 10 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. A funeral service will be March 11 at 8:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a funeral liturgy at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Ernestina DiFulvio Alberico Ernestina D. Alberico, 98, of North Brunswick, died Feb. 23 at home. Born in Astoria, N.Y., she resided in Middlebush, prior to moving to North Brunswick more than 60 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Alberico in 1988. She is survived by four daughters, Helen Krause and Mary DeWitt, both of North Brunswick, Ann Hunter of Somerset, and Rose Miller of Milltown; a son, Albert Alberico of Argile, N.Y., two sisters, in Italy; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church. Interment was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. John Friedland Mr. Friedland, 71, of the Dayton section of South Brunswick, died March 6 at Buckingham Place, South Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Manalapan for 30 years, prior to moving to Dayton two years ago. He was a manager at RCA Global Communications, Piscataway, retiring in 1989. He served with the U.S. National Guard. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara LoMonaco Friedland in 1988. He is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Hart of Dayton, and Joan Friedland and Marie Mormak, both of East Brunswick; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Pauline Friedland Jr. of Deer Park, N.Y., and Christopher Friedland of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and two grandsons. Interment was at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Arrangements were by The Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Carlo M. Smaldone Mr. Smaldone, 83, of Helmetta, formerly of East Brunswick, died Feb. 19 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service, North Brunswick, where he worked for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Rosalie Riscica Smaldone; three daughters, Monica Scheuer of Buffalo, N.Y., Rita Clements of Helmetta and Michele Reitnauer of Quakertown, Pa.; a son, Michael Smaldone of East Rutherford; two sisters, Mary Parmenter of Bellefonte, Pa., and Theresa Brown of Tamarac, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass was celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment followed in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. James Henry Kola Mr. Kola, 61, of Hollywood, Fla., died Feb. 17 in Hollywood. He resided in North Brunswick prior to moving to Florida more than 15 years ago. He was a retired employee of IBM Corporation. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Rutgers University. He is survived by his father of Hollywood; and a brother, Arthur Kola of Cleveland, Ohio.
