Community Bulletin Board South Brunswick Township Board of Education will hold kindergarten registration for the 2006-07 school year March 9 from 9:30-11:30 a.m., 1-2 p.m., and 6-8 p.m. at the individual schools. If there is a snow day and school is canceled, registration will be March 16. Effective with the 2006-07 year, the District's entrance age policy will change, and a child seeking entrance into the kindergarten program must have attained age 5 on or before Nov. 30, 2006. Parents/guardians must present the following documentation in order to register a student: + Immunization records + Proof of residence (e.g. deed or lease or signed contract of sale, if still in effect) + Passport or original birth certificate with raised seal + Proof of guardianship, if applicable. Enrollment is considered incomplete if all documentation is not present at the time of registration. Registration for Indian Fields and Brooks Crossing will take place at the main campuses. Project Grad to hold book sale, comedy event South Brunswick High School Project Graduation is collecting books for its used book sale March 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school at 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Books may be dropped off at the high school in the front entranceway any time before March 10. "A Night of Comedy" fund-raiser will be April 2 at the Stress Factory, New Brunswick. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $27 for students, and $30 for adults, and the price includes dinner and the show. High School Reservations are now being accepted for the senior citizen prom, hosted by the Viking Volunteers at South Brunswick High School. The event for seniors ages 50 and older from South Brunswick and neighboring towns will be held March 24 from 4-10 p.m. at the high school, 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Dinner will be served at the event. The minimum donation to attend the event, which is themed "A Walk in the Park for Parkinson's," is $5 per person, with all proceeds to be donated to a Parkinson's disease foundation. NAMI 'Family to Family' class begins March 13 The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in New Jersey will offer "Family to Family" for 12 Mondays beginning March 13 from 7-9:30 p.m. The free course is for families and caregivers of individuals with mental illness, and will be at the NAMI office at 1562 Route 130, North Brunswick. Rutgers University, New Brunswick, has announced its program of summer camps for children and teens. The Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math, Science and Engineering will sponsor the Douglass Science Institute program series June-July. Girls entering the ninth grade can apply for the four-year program series, with application deadline March 18. The program features intense, hands-on science experiences at Douglass College, New Brunswick. The Sisterhood of Congregation B'nai Tikvah, 1001 Finnegans Lane, North Brunswick, will show the film "Eagles Over Auschwitz: The Triumph of the Return" March 12 at 10 a.m. This program is free and open to all and includes a bagel breakfast. A discussion will follow. The temple's "Brunch & Learn Program" will focus on "The Comedian Harmonists" April 23. Douglas E. Friedman will present a program on the Harmonists singing group founded in 1927 and banned by the German government in 1935 because three of its six members were Jews. The North Brunswick September 11 Committee is accepting entries through March 10 for its T-shirt designing contest to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks. The theme is "Remember, Reflect and Recover" and the dates "9/11/01-9/11/06" should be included in the design. The facility provides services to victims of domestic violence and shelter for women victims and children.
