Two face charges for assaults at theater
BY JENNIFER AMATO
Staff Writer

NORTH BRUNSWICK — Two suspects were arrested in connection with aggravated assaults at Regal Cinema on Jan. 21.

Trevor Ray Bradley, 20, turned himself into headquarters on Feb. 9 after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon for allegedly striking a 15-year-old juvenile with a bottle in the head during an altercation at the Route 1 movie theater, according to North Brunswick Police Lt. Roger Reinson.

Bradley was processed and transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center on $75,000 bail. His accomplice, alleged to be a juvenile, has not yet been apprehended.

In a separate but believed to be related incident, according to police, Steven Alvez, 19, was arrested on Feb. 1 and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Alvez was first believed to be a victim of an attack because he claimed he was slashed in the face outside of Bertucci’s restaurant around 9 p.m. However, the theater’s surveillance camera showed a fight erupted at the front counter and Alvez, who was wearing a white sweatshirt, appeared in the next frame with blood splattered on his clothing. A subsequent frame showed him with a handgun.

Alvez was transferred to the MCACC with bail set at $175,000.

Anyone with information should call North Brunswick Police Detective Seeta Jones at (732) 247-0922 ext. 332.
