Assemblywoman Linda Green-stein (D-14) recently received the 2005 Legislator of the Year Award from The New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA). Greenstein was presented with the award at the PBA’s annual Valor Awards banquet in Atlantic City. She was honored for her long-standing support of issues important to the law enforcement community.

Michael Madonna, president of the PBA, called Greenstein “a true friend of law enforcement in general and the New Jersey State PBA in particular.” As chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee, Greenstein has worked to ensure the Legislature provides law-enforcement personnel the resources and mandates necessary to do jobs effectively. She also has fought for increased funding for New Jersey’s first responder community as a member of the Assembly Budget Committee.

Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, has announced its For “Kids Embraced and Empowered through Psychological Services” (KEEPS) program is now available for treatment of children with behavioral and emotional problems. The full-time day program runs year round and provides children with academic instruction in addition to behavioral and psychological treatments. New Jersey State Bar Foundation will sponsor a public seminar Jan. 11 from 7-9 p.m. Topics will include mediation and arbitration, alimony, custody and visitation, and domestic violence orders. A seminar on wills and estate planning will be Jan. 19 from 1-3 p.m. Topics include gift and tax planning, power of attorney, and living wills.
