Community Bulletin Board South Brunswick Rallies for Relief will hold a “$1 and 1 Food Item Drive” during the South Brunswick High School homecoming football game Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. at the school at 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Attendees are asked to drop off a canned food item for the South Brunswick Social Service’s Food Pantry, and donate $1 to help the recovery effort in D’Iberville, Miss. Canned items may b meats, soups, vegetables, milk, Parmalat, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, or turkey gravy. Also needed are boxed stuffing, coffee or tea, and boxed and bottled juice. The Tefillin Club will hold its next meeting Nov. 6 at 8:30 a.m. The six-week course, “Beyond Never Again,” will be held Tuesdays from 7:45-9:15 p.m. beginning Nov. 8. The course will enable participants to voice personal responses to the Holocaust and consider various perspectives. Created by the Jewish Learning Institute, it will coincide with the commemoration of Kristallnacht, which marks the beginning of Hitler’s final solution against European Jewry. Operation Christmas Child Nov. 14-21 Christ the King Lutheran Church, 3330 Route 27, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, will take part in Operation Christmas Child 2005 Nov. 14-21, to provide children in more than 90 countries worldwide with Christmas gifts. Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest Christmas project, and aims to hand-deliver an estimated 7.8 million gift-filled shoe boxes to children worldwide. South Brunswick residents may deliver shoe box gifts to the church Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 8-10 a.m., and Sunday by appointment. A book drive to benefit The Homeless and Indigent Population Health Outreach Project (HIPHOP) will be held through Jan. 1 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 869 Route 1 south, North Brunswick. Books collected throughout the holiday season will be given to HIPHOP, a student-run service organization at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick. Area artist’s work juried for New York City show Rae O’Shea, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, recently had her work “Canyon Rapids” chosen to be juried into a national exhibit at the Pen and Brush Club, 16 E. 10th St., New York City. The work is an impressionist oil painting done in Sedona, Ariz., by O’Shea. The exhibit will run through Nov. 17, with an awards reception, open to the public, Nov. 12 from 4-7 p.m. The Pen and Brush is one of the nation’s oldest women’s art organizations. The New Jersey Museum of Agriculture, 103 College Farm Road, North Brunswick, will present “On the Lenape Trail” Nov. 6 from noon to 3 p.m. The event will feature a gardening station, including the “Three Sisters,” corn grinding, wood chopping and other activities; the hunting station, featuring Lenape tools crafted of animal bones; a dwelling station, featuring a real wigwam children can enter; face painting; basket weaving; and games Lenape children played. The New Jersey Museum of Agriculture, 103 College Farm Road, North Brunswick, will hold a tricky tray auction Nov. 12. Doors open at 3 p.m., and the auction begins at 5 p.m. The event will also feature prizes, 50/50s and refreshments available for purchase. Auction items include theater tickets, jewelry, electronics, gift cards, restaurant gift certificates and other items. Tickets are priced at $1 for 20 regular tickets, $2 for 20 medium tickets, and $1 for three or $5 for 20 high-end tickets. Raffle tickets are $5 for 20, or $1 for three. South Brunswick Township has announced there will be no interruption in garbage or recycling pickups on Election Day, which is Nov. 8, or Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
