Obituaries Sidney Lee Mr. Lee, 37, of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, died Aug. 19 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he had been a resident of Kendall Park for most of his life. Mr. Lee was a computer programmer for UBS, New York. He was predeceased by his father, Jun-On Lee. Surviving are his mother, Jenny Lee of Kendall Park; two brothers, Edward Lee of East Windsor and Jeffrey Lee of Nashua, N.H.; and his grandmother, Fung Li of Brooklyn, N.Y. Funeral services will be held Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Burial will take place at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
Harold F. Fay Mr. Fay, 84, of North Brunswick, died Aug. 20 at his home. Born in New York City, he had lived in Edison and in Yardley, Pa., before moving to North Brunswick in 1965. Mr. Fay was employed by the Prudential Insurance Company of America, retiring as district manager in New Brunswick in 1978 after 32 years of service. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he flew 35 combat missions over Nazi-occupied Europe as a B-17 bombardier/navigator in the 379th Bomber Group of the 8th Air Force stationed in England. Mr. Fay was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick, and was a member of the church’s Knights of Columbus Council No. 11378. He also was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 2370, North Brunswick, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Fay is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne T. Andreas Fay; two sons, Richard G. Fay of Hillsborough and Robert H. Fay of Maplewood; two daughters, Jeanne L. Ogle of Clinton, Mass., and Andrea M. Christensen of Mount Laurel; and seven grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church, followed by burial at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. The Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. William J. Johnstone Mr. Johnstone, 89, of Milltown, died Aug. 26 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement several years ago, he was a tool and dye maker at Okanite Cable, North Brunswick. A past president of the Milltown Democratic Social Club and Milltown Senior Citizens, he worked on the Board of Elections in Milltown, the Milltown Board of Health Committee and the Middlesex County Housing and Community Development Committee. His wife, Mary, died in 2001. Surviving are two sons, William M. of New York City and John L. of South Brunswick; and many nieces and nephews. Alexander J. Fabian Mr. Fabian, 82, of North Brunswick, died Aug. 20 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Carteret, he had lived in Milltown before moving to North Brunswick 39 years ago. Mr. Fabian was a registered pharmacist for Milltown Pharmacy for more than 35 years, retiring six years ago. He was a graduate of Rutgers University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in biology in 1947 and a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy in 1950. Mr. Fabian served as a flight engineer in the 1077th Army Air Corps Base Unit during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Joyce Kilmer Post No. 25, Milltown; the Middlesex County Pharmacy Association; the New Jersey Pharmaceutical Association; the Rutgers Alumni Association; and the North Brunswick Chapter of AARP. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, both in Milltown. He also was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons’ Lodge 294 in Milltown and Theodore Roosevelt Lodge 219 in Carteret; a past district deputy grand master of the 27th District; and a patron of Order of the Eastern Star’s Ruth Chapter 12 and Carteret Chapter 239. Mr. Fabian was predeceased by his wife, Coralee Lins Fabian, in 2001. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and his companion, Claire Christie of Milltown. Funeral services were held at the Selover Funeral Home followed by burial at Van Liew Cemetery, both in North Brunswick. David L. Pearce Mr. Pearce, 79, of Gold Hill, N.C., died Aug. 24 at CareOne at King James, Middletown. Born in North Brunswick, he had resided in Somerset before moving to Gold Hill 15 years ago. Mr. Pearce was a chemist at City Service Oil Co., Cranbury, for 24 years, retiring in 1982. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Dunn’s Mountain Baptist Church, Salisbury, N.C. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 342, Salisbury, the Salisbury Commandery No. 20 of the Royal Arch Masons, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a former member of the North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 and a past master of Jerusalem Lodge 26, Free and Accepted Masons, Plainfield. Mr. Pearce was predeceased by a son, David E. Pearce, in 1967. He is survived by his wife, Martha Corley Pearce; two daughters, Deborah C. Jakub of Middletown and Tracie L. Zebro of Hillsborough; a son, Wayne C. Pearce of North Brunswick; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment took place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, East Millstone. Ronald J. Keegan Mr. Keegan, 47, of South Amboy, died Aug. 19 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. He was employed for 25 years with the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, North Brunswick, retiring with the rank of lieutenant in 2002. For the past year and a half he worked as a deckhand with Seastreak, South Amboy. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph J. Keegan Sr., and by his mother, Caroline Egnatyok Keegan. Surviving are his wife, Roxanne Meszaros Keegan; three daughters, Katelyn of Washington, D.C., and Jaclyn and Allyson, both at home; and a brother, David Keegan, and a sister, Debby Parsons, both of South Amboy. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, also South Amboy. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Amboy First Aid Squad, P.O.
