Community Bulletin Board Parents with a child ages 3-21 who may be experiencing physical, sensory, communication, cognitive or social difficulty are asked to call the North Brunswick Township Public School District at (732) 289-3035 to arrange an appointment and/or referral to a child study team. The school district is responsible for locating and evaluating all children who may be disabled, according to a press release from the township. Possible signs of a handicap include trouble seeing individuals or objects, trouble hearing, temper tantrums, and problems with pronunciation. Once a child has been located, the district will set up a free screening, and if the child is in need of services, he or she will be eligible for a free special education program through the township’s “child find.” Coffee house at B’nai Tikvah Aug. 18 Congregation B’nai Tikvah, 1001 Finnegans Lane, North Brunswick, will hold a coffee house Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. The free event is for individuals interested in its committees, programs, schools, youth groups and activities. It will also include a tour of the temple’s new wing. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend, and refreshments will be served. Vendors, crafters sought for Woman’s Club show The North Brunswick Woman’s Club is seeking crafters and vendors for its fourth annual craft show Nov. 19 at Our Lady of Peace Church Hall, Route 130, North Brunswick. Final program of Joust Read at library Aug. 16 North Brunswick Public Library, 880 Hermann Road, will present the final program of its Joust Read reading club Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. Students entering grades six through 10 may attend, and participants will make ice cream sundaes and catapults to shoot into the library’s castle. A minitricky tray auction will also take place. The library’s board of trustees will hold its monthly meeting Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. at the library. The live reptile show “There Be Dragons” will be presented by Snakes ’n Scales and Turtle Tales Aug. 18 at 1:30 p.m. to celebrate accomplishments of summer reading club members. The South Brunswick Office on Aging will offer a trip to Adventure Aquarium, Camden, Sept. 8 from 8:45 a.m.-5 p.m. (approximate). The bus will depart Woodlot Park, New Road, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick. The aquarium has been recently remodeled and offers an up-close look at species such as penguins, sharks, stingrays and sea turtles. The South Brunswick Family YMCA, 329 Culver Road, will begin registration Aug. 15 for its 10-week fall session. Open registration begins Aug. 22. The session runs Sept. 6 to Nov. 12. New programs offered include the American Red Cross babysitter certification course for students 11-15, youth volleyball for first and second graders with a parent, and cricket.
