Obituaries Verna Louise Zemann Mrs. Zemann, 76, of North Brunswick, died May 14 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Plainsboro, she resided in North Brunswick the past 25 years prior to moving to CareOne, East Brunswick, in October. She was the founder and owner with her former husband, Daniel Reggi, of Mom’s Italian Restaurant, Edison. She was honored by the mayor of North Brunswick for her gift of a defibrillator in honor of her late husband, Daniel Reggi, who died in 1980. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Cappy Zemann in 1999; two brothers, Melvin and Harry; and a sister, Martha. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Robert Burzynski of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, and Lucy and Richard Lloyd of Blakeslee, Pa.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Anne and James of Edison, Elizabeth Keller of New Brunswick, Dora and Asher of Jackson, and Grace Gorbe of Edison; a foster daughter, Joni Wyckoff of Parlin; and a granddaughter. A memorial service was at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was at Dayton Cemetery.
Frank J. Kalasin Mr. Kalasin, 82, of North Brunswick, died May 6 at home. Born in South River, he resided in North Brunswick the past 43 years. He was a construction laborer and member of the Laborers’ International Union Local No. 584, Sayreville, for more than 40 years. He was a communicant of and usher at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. He enjoyed gardening, painting, fishing, animals and woodworking. He was predeceased by five brothers, Anthony, Carl, Leon, Michael and Walter. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Klaus Kalasin; a daughter, Suzanne of Dusseldorf, Germany; two sons, Michael of North Brunswick, and Peter of Franklin Park; two sisters, Mary Bodak of South River, and Theresa Eaton of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords 08863.
John E. Borgeson Mr. Borgeson, 70, of Spotswood, formerly of East Brunswick and South River, died May 6 in Haven Hospice at JFK, Edison. Prior to his retirement in 1999, he was employed by Donald C. Rodner Contractors, South Brunswick. Before that, he worked for Logan Towing, North Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Anna Maria DeLucia Borgeson; a sister, Doris Williams of Texas; his father-in-law, Joseph DeLucia of Sayreville; two sisters-in-law, Carmen Delikat of Sayreville and Dolores “Cookie” DeLucia of North Brunswick; a brother-in-law, Joseph DeLucia of Neptune City; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Maliszewski Memorial Home, Sayreville. Dorothy J. Francis Schrader Mrs. Schrader, 84, of East Brunswick, died May 3 in Buckingham Place, South Brunswick. Her husband, Horace, died in 1977. Surviving are three children, Carol Hover of Pine City, N.Y., Dr. John Schrader of North Andover, Mass., and Linda Romatowski of South Brunswick; a brother, George Francis of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Nativity Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.
