Marching band ‘best kept secret in North Brunswick’

The best kept secret in North Brunswick Township is the phoenix-like rise from the ashes of the marching band program. In less than four years, this talented and diverse group has more than quadrupled its size and re-established itself as an important entity in the high school and the community.

Credit for this meteoric expansion goes to North Brunswick Township High School band director James Egan, Linwood Middle School band director Chris English, and Barbara Williams. Through their tireless efforts, overwhelming energy and single-minded dedication to the students, they have created an energetic, family-like atmosphere that has allowed young, talented musicians to reach their potential inside the classroom and on the fields of competition.

I would encourage all members of the township to come out to our annual band festival Oct. 9 at Libro Field to see what great teaching can do for our children. It will be music to your ears.
