Oktoberfest proceeds go to church, youth group

St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Monmouth Junction will hold its first Oktoberfest at Pierre’s of South Brunswick on Oct. 23. Along with a German food buffet, casino games will be featured; tables will include blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, and a big six wheel. Tickets are $50 per person ($40 for senior citizens). Participants receive a full buffet, $50 in gaming chips, and opportunities to win prizes. Tickets purchased by Oct. 17 earn players an extra $25 in gaming chips, for a total of $75 worth.

Free baby-sitting is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The parish’s LifeTeen youth group will handle babysitting duties.

Proceeds from the evening’s festivities will be split between help for the cost of operating the parish facilities, and the LifeTeen group’s trip to World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany, in August.

Pierre’s is located at Georges Road in Monmouth Junction. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the parish office at (732) 329-2893.
