Dorothy Madeline Comstock
Mrs. Comstock, 82, of the Clarksburg section of Millstone, died July 16 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Stoughton, Mass., she had lived in North Brunswick before moving to Clarksburg 20 years ago. She was a member of Georges Road Baptist Church, North Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Wilmer Comstock; a son, Wil Comstock of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Linda Comstock of Clarksburg and Jeannette Mueller of East Brunswick; and three grandchildren. Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160. Eric B. Neumann Mr. Neumann, 46, of North Brunswick died July 24 at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Levittown, Pa., he resided in Yardley and Bensalem, Pa., and Levittown prior to moving to North Brunswick six years ago. He was a sales manager at RJM Manufacturing, Morrisville, Pa., for more than 20 years. He is survived by his fiancée, Donna Santorelli of North Brunswick; a daughter, Heather Neumann of Langhorne, Pa.; his father, Eugene Neumann of Levittown; a sister and brother-in-law, Hannah and Hilel Weiss of Israel; two nieces; and a nephew. Burial was at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Mary Frances Raddell Salter Mrs. Salter, 98, of North Brunswick died July 4 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Princeton, she resided in New Brunswick for 30 years, prior to moving to North Brunswick. She was the oldest living member of, and missionary emeritus at Mount Zion AME Church, New Brunswick. She was a homemaker. Her memberships included the United Church Women and Ebenezer Community Senior Citizens Club, both New Brunswick. She was also acknowledged by the AME Church as the longest-living outstanding missionary in New Jersey, and was a member emeritus of Stewardess Board No. 3. She was predeceased by her husband, Garrett E. Salter; two sons, Garrett E. Salter Jr. and Harold L. Salter; a daughter, Phyllis M. Salter Thompson; and a son-in-law and daughter-in-law. She is survived by a son, Gilbert A. Salter; a daughter-in-law, Catherine M. Salter; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Mount Zion AME Church, New Brunswick. Burial was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Anderson Funeral Service, New Brunswick. Jan William Skidmore Mr. Skidmore, 56, of Milltown, formerly of North Brunswick, died July 21 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a heating, ventilation and air conditioning mechanic for the Monroe Township Board of Education. Prior to that, he was a U.S. Postal Service employee for 36 years, working as a mailman at the East Brunswick post office and as a maintenance mechanic at the Kilmer postal facility annex, Metuchen. Surviving are his wife, Joanne Phillips Skidmore; a son, Jason of Colorado; a daughter, Jean of Wisconsin; and two sisters, Cynthia Rossi of North Carolina and Jeanette Walsh of New Hampshire. Services were held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Theodore J. Makowski Mr. Makowski, 85, of South River died July 1 in Old Bridge Manor. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was a cashier for 25 years at Frank and Al’s Grocery, South River. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Theresa Lachowiec. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Rosemary Hauge of South River; four brothers, Frank Rusin of Sayreville, Charles Rusin of South Plainfield, Walter Rusin of Warren and Chester Rusin of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Anna Grabowski of Matawan, Mary Michalik of Sayreville and Josephine Chmura of Philadelphia; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in the church cemetery. |
