Business Briefs Victor Picazio and Karleen Keiser, sales associates at Re/Max Across Town Realty, Spotswood, recently joined the national Re/Max Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Home Program. Under the program, the associates will donate a specified amount of money per sales transaction to CMN. The associates will display the colorful "Miracle Home" riders on top of their Re/Max yard signs. Re/Max is the exclusive real estate sponsor for CMN, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for children’s hospitals. This year Re/Max associates made a record $7 million contribution to CMN. The proceeds generated by the Spotswood office will benefit Children’s Specialized Hospital, an affiliate of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, with locations in Mountainside, Fanwood, the Toms River section of Dover, Newark, Union and Elizabeth; and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. The CMN-associated hospitals, which treat children with all types of afflictions including cancer, heart and muscular diseases, birth defects, AIDS and injuries resulting from accidents, pride themselves on treating the whole child and rendering service based on need, not on the ability to pay. Commissioner to speak at state chamber event The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce will hold an Issues Breakfast featuring Holly C. Bakke, state Banking and Insurance Department commissioner, from 8:30-10 a.m. on Oct. 15 at Forsgate Country Club, Monroe. The commissioner will speak on implementing auto insurance reform, the high cost of health insurance, the impact of banking mergers and acquisitions and other department priorities.
