Ruth E. Palm Findon

Mrs. Findon, 88, of Naperville, Ill., formerly of Milltown, died Aug. 11 in Manor Care Center Services, Naperville. She and her late husband, Fred J. Findon, formerly owned and operated Findon’s Restaurant and Tavern, Milltown. Her husband, Fred, died in 1963. Surviving are a daughter, the Rev. Dr. Carol R. Findon of Naperville; a son, Donald F. Findon of Billings, Mont.; a brother, Robert Palm of East Brunswick; a sister, Helen Emerick of North Brunswick; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services are planned for 11 a.m. on Aug. 19 at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Movement Disorders, Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, Suite 755, Neuroscience Institute, 1725 W. Harrison St., Chicago, IL 60612, or to the charity of one’s choice.

George E. Edgley Sr.

George E. Edgley Sr., 85, of North Brunswick, died Aug. 13 at home. Born in England, he resided in the Fords section of Woodbridge prior to moving to North Brunswick five years ago. He was a retired distributor at North Jersey Dairyland, Newark. He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Witboldt Edgley, and a son, George E. Edgley Jr., both in 1993. HE is survived by four daughter and sons-in-law, Patricia and Harry Stilwell of Cape Coral, Fla., Debbie and Peter Hines of Robbinsville, Barbara and Gus Peterson of Edison, and Valarie and Michael Marinaro of Somerset; a son, Ed Edgley of Lumberton; a daughter-in-law, Heidimarie Edgley of Pine Beach; two brothers, Hank Edgley of Harlingen, Texas, and John Edgley of Fresco, Pa.; and six grandchildren. Interment was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice, c/o John F. Mr. Armenti, 86, of North Brunswick, died Aug. 14 at Willow Creek Rehabilitation and Care Center, Somerset. Born in North Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident. He was a foreman at Pennsylvania Railroad for 43 years, retiring in 1978. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. He was an avid baseball fan. He was predeceased by four brothers, Dominick, Louis, George and Daniel Armenti. He is survived by a brother, Carmen Armenti of North Brunswick; three sisters, Jennie Nicotra of Perciville, Va., Josephine Parillo of North Brunswick, and Vera Covino of Coconut Court, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Selover Fu­neral Home, North Brunswick.

Albert J. Gazzio

Mr. Gazzio, 77, of Old Bridge, died Aug. 4 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Newark, he resided there prior to moving to Old Bridge 37 years ago. He was a utility man at General Motors, Clark, for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Gae­tana Gazzio; two sons, Lenny of Old Bridge, and Jerry of the Dayton section of South Brunswick; three daughters, Paula Boyle of Old Bridge, Christina Lane of Hamilton, and Liliana Hickman of Riverside Calif.; a sister, Mary Tortorello of Toms River; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. Arrangements were by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.

Frank E. Pennington

Mr. Pennington, 92, of Manalapan, died Aug. 7 at Francis E. Parker Nursing Home, Piscataway. Born in New Brunswick, he had lived in Milltown before moving to Manalapan 18 years ago. He had played football, baseball and basketball for New Brunswick High School, was basketball captain his senior year for Rutgers Preparatory School, Somerset, and was also on the varsity all-state basketball team at Rutgers Prep. He was placed in the Rutgers Prep Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987 and in the New Brunswick High School Hall of Fame in 2000. A 1937 graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Mr. Pennington was the civil defense director for Middlesex County, New Brunswick, for 14 years prior to retiring in 1981. For 25 years, he was co-owner with Harry Burgeson of the F. Bright Merit Insurance Agency, New Brunswick. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown; a member of the Elks, Lions and Exchange clubs, all of New Brunswick; a volunteer for the Red Cross and The Salvation Army; and past president of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Surviving are his wife, Marie (Ballou) Pennington; three daughters, Jean Olsen and Pat Balachick, both of North Brunswick, and Diane Davis of Manalapan; two sons, Ross Pennington of Old Bridge and Rich Pennington of Hillsborough; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, with Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown, in charge of arrangements.
