Garbage pickups canceled on Dec. 25, Jan. 1

South Brunswick Township reminds residents there will be no garbage or recycling picked up Christmas Day, Dec. 25, or New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. All material will be picked up the day after the holiday, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, respectively. Christmas trees will be collected by the public works department Jan. 2-16. Trees must be free of ornaments, bags and metal items (including stands), and should be placed at the curb of single-family residences (residents in multi-family developments should place trees next to the most convenient dumpster enclosure). in children’s programs

The South Brunswick Department of Recreation and Community Affairs sill has openings in "Creative Learning" for pre-kindergartners ("Yippee I’m 3", "Stepping Stones" and "Fundays"), and "Bright Starts" parent/child programs. Programs begin Jan. 5 at the community center at Woodlot Park, New Road, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick. Registration is open to all South Brunswick Township residents, and nonresidents may register two days prior to program start, space permitting. Pilates class at senior center to begin Jan. 6

The South Brunswick Senior Center will offer a 10-week pilates class Jan. 6-March 9, with a class at 9 a.m. and one at 10:15 a.m. Cost is $20 for the entire session for township residents age 55 and older. So. Brunswick Preschool PTO to meet Jan. 6

The South Brunswick Preschool PTO will hold its next meeting Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in room B107 at South Brunswick High School, 750 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Auditions for ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ Jan. 7, 10

Auditions for the North Brunswick Adult Drama Group’s annual musical, "Jekyll and Hyde," will be Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. Auditions will be in the faculty room at North Brunswick Township High School, Raider Road.

The production is sponsored by the North Brunswick Department of Human Services (DHS). No experience is necessary to be in the program. The show features a large cast and actors and singers are needed. Production dates are March 4-6.
