Toys for Tots collection

to begin Nov. 28

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) will collect new, unwrapped toys for its Toys for Tots program ev­ery Saturday beginning Nov. 28 at the Santa Claus display at the Menlo Park Mall, Edison.

Toys and cash donations also may be dropped off at 70 Marsh Ave., Sayreville. Checks should be made payable to USMCR Toys for Tots.

China, pottery exhibit

planned for Nov. 21, 22

The 12th annual Eastern States China, American Pottery And Dinnerware Exhibition (E.S.C.A.P.A.D.E.) will be held from 6-9:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 at the St. Lawrence Parish Center, Laurence Parkway, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge.

The event will feature dealers from six states selling collectible, 20th cen­tury American-made pottery, china and dinnerware.

Participants are invited to meet special guest Jo Cunningham, creator of the country’s first pottery show, for­mer editor and publisher of the collec­tor’s newspaper, The Glaze, and author of "The Collector’s Encyclopedia of American Dinnerware." Cunningham’s books will be available for purchase and autographing.

Admission is $5 per person. Grand door prize will be a service for six in Harker China’s Everglades pattern.

Jewish panel fund-raiser

The Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County invites the commu­nity to participate in its annual Super Sunday Phone-athon set for Nov. 23 at 230 Old Bridge Turnpike, South River. Session I is set for 9 a.m. to noon; Session II will take place from noon to 3 p.m.; Session III, 6-9 p.m.

The festivities will include food, drink and treats all day.

Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Southern Middlesex County, Concordia Shopping Center, Monroe, is forming a new bereavement group.
