Thanks extended to ‘Tailgate’ supporters On Sunday afternoon, Oct. 26, "Tailgate Trick or Treat" was held for South Brunswick residents at Woodlot Park. This is the second year for this event, and it was a tremendous success. More than 250 participants enjoyed a car-decorating contest, a roving entertainer and magician, a spooky path, goody bags and — most of all — tailgate trick-or-treating. On behalf of South Brunswick Department of Recreation and Community Affairs, I would like to acknowledge the businesses and organizations that made contributions and donations of merchandise, and the volunteers who contributed their time, enthusiasm and skills to the program. Their dedication to our community made the event possible. "Thank you" to the following businesses and organizations for their generous donations, assistance and support: South Brunswick Explorers Post No. 166; South Brunswick Community Police; South Brunswick D.A.R.E.; Karen Cohen, event coordinator for the Girl Scout Troops of South Brunswick; Café Galore; McDonald’s; Dusal’s; Capriccio’s; Pierre’s Deli; Kendall Park Roller Rink; Burger King; Pleasant Hill Farms; Dunkin’ Donuts of the Dayton section of South Brunswick; and Von Thuns Country Farm Market. Also, I would like to thank the following individual volunteers: Joe Camerota, Agnes Farkas, Betty Ryan, Bernadette Kilduff, Mary Twiggs, Lisa Nicolaison, Jeanine Pearce and Carol Petri. Finally, I would like to thank the Department of Recreation and Community Affairs staff: Kevin Miele, Marybeth Miele, Diana Walsh, Jenn Petri-Charmello, and Ricky Luca and his "Spooky Crew" — Dan Brady, Seth Robey, Stefanie Strameli and Kerri Tracey — all of whom went far beyond the call of duty to make this event an unqualified success.
