Democrats have done little to deserve re-election

Township Council incumbents Francis "Mac" Womack and Carlo Socio have accomplished little in the three years they have been in office.

The water contract is smoke and mirrors. It was negotiated by Republicans, voted down by Republicans and neighboring towns for not having any bite. Our children will be paying for the water their grandparents are drinking today, and the rest of us are paying more for our water now.

Mac and Carlo say they have kept "property taxes steady" yet have increased taxes and imposed user fees during their stay in office.

They say they have "protected our town from unnecessary development." Yet they approved a six-story residential complex on Cozzens Lane, and are on the verge of developing open space into a 790-spot parking lot.

They say they are civil, yet have abandoned and bashed their own political party. They say they are "serving people not politics," yet have not listened to the people’s objections to the water contract, condemnation, residential development, or tax increases.

On Nov. 4 I encourage all my neighbors to send a message to the incumbents.

Please don’t deceive me just to get elected.

I am voting Gregg Rubenstein for mayor, Rick Criqui, and Pat Melanson for council, and encourage all my neighbors to do the same.
