Community Bulletin Board ‘Meet the Media’ at area book store Sept. 20 Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 869 Route 1 south, North Brunswick, will present "Meet the Media" Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. The free event will kick off "Banned Book Week" Sept. 20-27 and the speakers will explore the themes of freedom of information and censorship. Included on the panel will be Charles W. Kim, managing editor of The Sentinel; Bernard Spigner, host of the "Afternoon Show" on WCTC radio; and Lynnette Khalfani, syndicated personal finance columnist of Financially Fit. Advance tickets on sale for Legion’s picnic Advance tickets are now available for American Legion Post No. 401 and its Auxiliary’s "Summer Picnic" Sept. 13 from noon-5 p.m. The picnic will be at the post at 148 Major Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick (rain or shine). Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 5-12, and $12 and $7, respectively, after Sept. 6. Children age 5 and younger are admitted free of charge.
