Man charged with leaving accident

SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A 48-year-old South Brunswick man struck a traffic signal on Route 130, a guard rail on Griggs Drive, and just missed a Verizon worker before fleeing the accident scene, according to police.

Police said Richard Ezyske was driving his 2001 Dodge Durango at 4:20 p.m. July 30 when the accident took place.

After fleeing the scene of the accident, Ezyske drove into the Fresh Ponds Apartment Complex, where officers found him, minutes later, attempting to repair his vehicle, according to police. The Durango had heavy front-end damage including a flat tire. Ezyske said he was unsure what he had struck.

Police said Ezyske was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, careless driving and driving while intoxicated. He was released on a summons.
