Sport Shorts The North Brunswick Township Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is seeking qualified nominees for induction. To obtain an application for a candidate or for information, please contact Dave Hayes, director of athletics at North Brunswick Township High School, Raider Road, North Brunswick, 08902, or call (732) 289-3708. Nominations close on March 4. The PDA (Players Development Academy) will run its spring developmental training league from March 17 through May 17 for ages 6-9. The program consists of Monday training and Saturday small-sided matches. For more details, visit www.pdasoccer.com, or call (732) 227-1823. There will be a meeting for all managers of the South Brunswick Women’s Spring Volleyball teams that are interested in returning to the league in 2003 on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Community Center, located on New Road in Woodlot Park. New teams are welcome and will be admitted into the league on a space-available basis. A lottery will be held at the organizational meeting to determine the order of entry in to the league, if there are spaces. All new teams must have a representative at the meeting to participate in the lottery. Fees will be $10 for each player who lives in South Brunswick and $20 for each eligible non-resident (must work 20 or more hours per week in South Brunswick). Fees and a roster are due by March 12 before 4 p.m. All checks should be made payable to South Brunswick Township. All managers must attend this meeting or have a representative present. If a team is not returning for the season, or for further information, please call the Recreation Office by Feb. 26 at (732) 940-9432 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. |
