Obituaries JOSEPH JOHN DAUGILA SR., 81, of South River, formerly of Spotswood, died Feb. 13. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Weseman Daugila; a son, Joseph Daugila of South River; two daughters, Karen Lach of Houston and Theresa Morgan of Flemington; a brother, John J. Daugila of Freehold; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Corpus Christi Church, South River. Interment was in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, 212 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015. MARY SACK LEPKOWSKI, 84, of Wall, formerly of South River, died Feb. 11 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Her husband, Casimir Lepkowski, died in 1998. Surviving are a daughter, Anita Williams of Wall; a son, Ronald Lepkowski of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Helen Przyblowski and Amelia White, both of Delaware; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick. NICHOLAS ROMAN, 58, of East Brunswick died Feb. 12 at home. Surviving are his wife, Christine Nemetz Roman; two sons, Scott Andrew and Keith Joseph, both at home; his mother, Martha Roman of Edison; five brothers, Emery of the Somerset section of Franklin, Robert of the Toms River section of Dover, Donald of the Lincroft section of Middletown, Joseph of Edison and Ernest of the Avenel section of Woodbridge; and one sister, Martha Olowiany of Edison. Services were held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords, NJ 08863. JOHN P. BASTEK, 81, of Sayreville died Feb. 13 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Frieda Offenberger Bastek; two daughters, Bernadette MacKie of Spotswood and Barbara Bastek-Coogan of Sayreville; a son, Bruce Bastek of Monroe; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville. GILDA S. CARBONELL, 74, of Old Bridge died Feb. 12 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are four sons, Rafael Lim of Old Bridge, Lester Lim and Michael Lim, both of the Philippines, and Joey Lim of Thailand; two daughters, Jean dela Cruz of the Philippines and Susan Baldwin of Florida; a sister, Naty Carbonell of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and 14 grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was private. |
