Penson named April Employee of Month The township of North Brunswick has announced its Employee of the Month for April is Anne Penson, police records clerk and typist at the Department of Public Safety. A lifelong North Brunswick resident, Penson began at the police records bureau in 1976. Soon after, her excellent typing skills and commitment were in demand in a growing detective bureau, officials said. "Anne is a pleasure to work with," said Deputy Chief Stanley Karbowski. "Her conscientious efforts and positive interaction with the public and the staff have made her a great asset to the township for 26 years." Penson is responsible for transcribing statements and all daily clerical operations of the bureau. She also functions as secretary to the traffic safety committee and juvenile justice committee. Local lawyer named to selection committee Attorney Oleta J. Harden, North Brunswick, has been chosen as a member of the search committee recently created by Monmouth University, West Long Branch. The university has begun its national search for a president to succeed President Dr. Rebecca Stafford, who will retire in 2003. The 16-member search committee will oversee the selection process. The committee consists of eight trustees, the president of the university’s alumni association, two faculty members, one academic department chairperson, two students, and two administrators. Finalist candidates will be interviewed during late fall. Realtor adds new sales associate to staff Coldwell Banker, South Brunswick, has announced the addition of Susan Kohen to its sales staff. Prior to joining Coldwell, she was a legal secretary for more than 10 years. A native of North, South and East Brunswick for more than 30 years, Kohen is the mother of three children. County chamber honors area business leaders The Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Fleet Bank handed out awards to local business leaders at the chamber’s recent 48th annual Business Resource Day. Award recipients were Peter Weitsen of Mendlowitz and Weitsen CPAs, East Brunswick; North Brunswick resident Bernice Venable of AlphaGraphics, Edison; Brian Taxman of Pino’s Fruit Basket Shoppe and Wine Cellar, Highland Park; and Barbara Busch of Barbara Busch Interiors, also Highland Park. The winner of the Fleet Bank Volunteer of the Year Award was Ed Satran, owner of Clearwater Associates, East Brunswick. |
