EBINGER, 71, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Oct. 17 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. A son, Bobby Ebinger, died in May. Surviving are his wife, Jean Gaynor Ebinger; a daughter, Kathy Kowacz of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick; two sons, Don Ebinger of Manalapan and Rick Ebinger of the Sewell section of Mantua Township; and seven grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in the church mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Popcorn Park Zoo, Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ 08731. JOSEPH J. GROSSWEILER, 84, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., died Oct. 9 in Hilton Head Medical Center and Clinics. His wife, Nadia B. Grossweiler, died in 1994. Surviving are a brother, Philip J. Grossweiler of South River; a sister, Lorraine Osowski of the Parlin section of Sayreville; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held in St. Francis by the Sea Church, Hilton Head Island. MIRA LAUFER HAAS, 54, of East Brunswick died Oct. 12 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Dr. Alexander Haas; two sons, Edward Haas of Richmond, Va., and Dr. Michael Haas of Wyomissing, Pa.; a daughter, Dr. Rochelle Haas of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Entombment was in Beth Israel Cemetery Mausoleum, Woodbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords, NJ 08863-1564. MACIEJ S. KACZMARCZYK, 47, of West Bristol, Pa., died Oct. 11 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Route 95 in Bensalem, Pa. He was employed as the music director at St. Mary’s Church, South River, for the past 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Shaw Kaczmarczyk; a daughter, Kasha Kaczmarczyk of Poland; a stepson, Kenneth J. Shaw Jr. of Bensalem; his parents, Leon and Eulalia Kaczmarczyk, and a brother, Andrzej, all of Poland. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South River. Cremation was private. STEVE KUZAVA, 87, of South River died Oct. 21 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. His wife, Josephine Losinski Kuzava, died in 1987. Surviving are a brother, George of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Margaret Szczepanowski and Josephine Herzog, both of South River; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. on Oct. 25 at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick. CHAD H. KMIEC, 60, of Monroe Township, formerly of the Tennent section of Manalapan, died Oct. 15 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. Conover Kmiec; a son, Chad C. Kmiec of Chicago; two daughters, Denise M. LeBrun of Monroe and Michelle L. Kmiec of South Dakota; two brothers, Julian Kmiec of Indiana and Louis F. Kmiec Jr. of Manasquan; and four grandchildren. Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. PEPPI S. LYONS PERL, 60, of Monroe Township, formerly of Spotswood, died Oct. 18 at home. Surviving are two daughters, Lorie Polefka of Monroe and Sheri Oshins of Robbinsville; a sister, Genie Lyons of Santa Monica, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Interment was in Floral Park Cemetery, South Brunswick. GARY ALLEN WINKLER, 50, of San Diego, formerly of South River, died Oct. 10 in San Diego. Surviving are his parents, Edward Sr. and Sophie Winkler of Brick; a son, Kyle, and a daughter, Kristin, both of Lakewood; and two brothers, Edward Winkler Jr. and Wayne Winkler, both of Brick. Services were offered at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River. JOHN T. DURKIN, 61, of Old Bridge died Oct. 15 at home. A son, John Durkin Jr., died in 1995. Surviving are his wife, Loreen McCrary Durkin; a son, Patrick Durkin of Old Bridge; a daughter, Allison Renn of Jackson; and three grandchildren. Services are planned for 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick. Private cremation will follow. |
